Cookie Policy

What Is a Cookie
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies are used to enable the technical operation of a site, protect session security, remember your preferences and generate statistical information about how the site is used. Cookies cannot execute programs on your device, carry malware or access files stored on your device.
Alongside cookies, browsers offer local storage, which serves similar purposes. Information held in local storage is not transmitted to the server automatically and remains only in your browser. Unless stated otherwise, references to cookies in this Policy apply equally to local storage.
Cookies are classified by duration as session cookies, which are deleted when the browser is closed, and persistent cookies, which remain on the device for a defined period. They are also classified by origin as first-party cookies, placed by the website itself, and third-party cookies, placed by external service providers integrated into the site.
This Cookie Policy describes the cookies used on www.teris.com.tr, operated by Teriş Kimyevi Maddeler Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş., and forms an integral part of our Data Protection Notice. It has been prepared having regard to Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK") and the Guidelines on Cookie Practices published by the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority.
Cookies We Use
Our website uses a deliberately limited set of cookies. No cookies are used for advertising, profiling or behavioural targeting.
Essential (Technical) Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the core functions of the site. Our website uses a single session cookie to protect session integrity and to provide protection against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) when forms are submitted. Without this cookie, the contact, quotation and career forms cannot operate securely. Because they are indispensable for the delivery of the service, essential cookies do not require consent, although you must be informed of their existence.
Preference Cookies
These remember the choices you make on the site. Your cookie preference is stored in the local storage area of your browser rather than in a cookie, so that the cookie banner is not displayed again on each visit. This record contains only the preference itself and no information capable of identifying you.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies generate aggregated statistical data that helps us understand how visitors use the site, measure page performance and improve content. Analytics cookies are activated only if you give explicit consent to analytics through the cookie preference panel. Until consent is given, the analytics code is not loaded onto the page at all, and accordingly no data is collected or transmitted to third parties. If you withdraw your consent, the analytics code will not be loaded on subsequent page views.
Purposes of Cookie Use
- Ensuring that the website operates securely and without interruption.
- Preserving session integrity during form submissions and blocking malicious requests.
- Remembering your cookie preference and, where applicable, your language selection.
- Subject to your consent, measuring visit statistics, page views and navigation flows on an aggregated basis.
- Monitoring the performance of the site infrastructure and identifying and resolving technical faults.
Personal data obtained through cookies is processed on the legal grounds set out in our Data Protection Notice. For essential cookies, the legal basis is the legitimate interest of the data controller together with the performance of a contract; for analytics cookies, the legal basis is explicit consent.
Cookies are not used to contact you directly, to build individual profiles, to serve behavioural advertising or to match the resulting data with other databases. Reports generated through analytics measurement are aggregated and statistical in nature and are not intended to identify individual visitors.
Third-Party Cookies
Cookies belonging to a web analytics service provider may be set on your device only where analytics consent has been given. In that case, the provider may place its own cookies in your browser and process data such as your IP address in accordance with its own policies. Where the provider processes data on servers located abroad, the transfer is carried out on the basis of your explicit consent within the scope of Article 9 of the KVKK.
Our website does not use social media plug-ins, advertising networks or tracking pixels. If you follow a third-party link published on our site, the cookie practices of that site will apply. The Company is not responsible for the content or data processing activities of such websites.
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
On your first visit, a cookie preference panel allows you to accept or decline analytics cookies. You may change your choice at any time by reopening the panel through the cookie preferences link in the site footer. If you clear site data in your browser, your stored preference is deleted and the panel is displayed again.
You may also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent certain functions, such as form submission, from working correctly.
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies / Site settings.
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data, or Block All Cookies.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Menu labels vary between browser versions; please refer to the help pages of your browser for current instructions. Mobile devices additionally offer tracking and advertising identifier controls at the operating system level. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal, but the analytics code will not be loaded on subsequent visits.

The categories of cookies used, their purposes, whether consent is required and their retention periods are summarised below.
| Category | Purpose | Consent Required | Retention Period |

Changes to This Policy
The Company reserves the right to amend this Cookie Policy in response to legislative developments, changes to the technical infrastructure or changes of service provider. The updated policy takes effect on the date it is published at www.teris.com.tr. Where there is a material change to the categories of cookies used, your consent will be requested again through the cookie preference panel.
